Doherty, C. print (2009) Situations: A combined model of research and commissioning as a method of unknowing place. In: Dare No.4: Urban Knowledge: How Fine Art and Design Perspectives could contribute to understand and rethink our current urban environments and their complexities, MaKHU/ Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design, 9 September 2009. [Unpublished] Full text not available from this repository AbstractThis paper presented at Situations is a model of commissioning and research programme through an analysis of its projects and events as responsive to a notion of situation, rather than site, to unknowing rather than knowing a place. These projects, it was argued, revealed displacements, interruptions and interventions which allow for new readings of place, reflecting the most dynamic and significant of contemporary art practices.
