Abstract

'Migrations and the media' will bring together current research from the interdisciplinary fields of migration studies and media studies. In its focus upon the global reporting of migration, it will critically explore the mediation of a range of migration 'issues': the processes and policies, institutions, regulations and relations of migration, as well as the experiences, subjectivities, rationales and consequences of and for people movements in diverse global contexts. As well as the characteristics of migration news coverage, the representations and discursive contructions of migrants and migration issues, the book will explore the processes of producing 'migration news'
