Abstract

The paper examines the policies to address urban policies in several European countries with reference to contemporary European discourses on urban change. In particular it focuses on the role of the neighbourhood within these policies seeking to reveal that while different national urban policies may appear to share common assumptions/approaches each country has developed its own, often distinctive, approach.
