It focuses on critical success factors (CSF) in order to establish an appropriate guideline for the project evaluation. A review of contemporary project management literature identifies general project CSF and SAP-project specific CSF and provides a brief theoretical overview of the purpose of project reviews and points out difficulties regarding performance measurements. The review of the project is a qualitative evaluation based on selected CSF. Project evaluation is an ongoing, multidimensional process and can be used to measure success and to learn from previous experience. The CSF used to measure the project success, need to be well defined and constantly checked as they can change over time. For project success a good communication with all stakeholders involved is fundamental. Constant review becomes necessary in today’s complex project world in order to engage in total quality management and continuous improvement.
