Abstract

This chapter reflects on different variations of creative citizenship drawing from empirical studies carried out across the Creative Citizen project, covering different domains in which media are used creatively by communities. It discusses a number of cases where notions of citizenship and creativity come together, and position them along a spectrum that covers personal, cultural, social and political dimensions as well as notions of belonging, identity, agency and power. Critical to this discussion is an examination of the role of co-production activities and outcomes of the Creative Citizen project.
