Abstract

This article reports on a Department of Health funded multi-component evaluation of a complex community initiative. It builds on contemporary models of service user involvement in public health and sets an agenda for innovative forms of health promotion with young people. The author was an equal partner with colleagues in study design, data collection and data analysis.

Young people involved produced 'Think Before You Drink' - a little book on booze, which won a Nursing Council on Alcohol/Unison prize for practice innovation.
