Abstract

The article draws on data collected during a research project directed by Young and funded by the four Higher Education Funding Councils, completed under the auspices of the HEA subject centre for Social Policy and Social Work. The project investigated undergraduate teaching in Social Policy through interviews with 46 lecturers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. This paper develops the concept of 'integrity of practice' as an analytic tool for understanding professional practice. Authorship is joint and equal.
