| Additional Information: | Drawing on case studies of practice collected through a systematic research process, this book provides a unique analysis of a curriculum subject by exploring its links with three curriculum themes. Professor Ritchie was responsible for a third of the work, and took particular responsibility for section 2, on cultural education, as well as making a significant contribution to section 3. It is notable that the attention the book gives to culture and citizenship in the context of the Design and Technology curriculum, building on the national drive to creativity, culture and education (NACCCE, All Our Futures, 1999), was innovative and only later came to be addressed by other writers. The work has been disseminated nationally and internationally through journal articles, conferences inputs and initial and continuing teacher education programmes. |
