Abstract

This contribution appeared in a collection of articles by young typologists. It is a typological analysis of the system of complex predicates in Mosetén, in particular focussing on the verbness markers and their development. The author discusses the system in detail and compares it to the very similar complex predicate systems in several Australian languages and in one other South American language. She relates her findings to the similarities in development, semantics and functions of verbness markers in the different languages, discussing an overall typology of complex predicate systems.
