Bacon, T. , Kydd, E. and Dickman, G. (2008) 'No, not yet: Woman, abjection and redemption in Alfonso Cuaron's The Children of Men'. In: UWE, Philosophy and Film/Film and Philosophy, Arnolfini, Bristol, 6 July 2008. Full text not available from this repository AbstractPaper (given as part of a panel in conjunction with Elspeth Kydd and Govinda Dickman) providing a critical analysis of Alfonso Cuaran’s film, The Children of Men - based on a novel by PD James. The paper critiqued the ways in which this production, (based on a dystopian vision of a future militarised world where women, stripped of their procreative function, seem to have little value), albeit “right on” met, or failed to meet its own agenda.
