Abstract

The exhibition presents selected works from the Song Archive Project in Europe, Iran and the USA from the past six years. The exhibition provided a method to explore significant themes relevant to each location, creating a series of autonomous projects in the six exhibition spaces. A site-specific installation at the Cheekwood Museum was inspired by and a response to the international musical reputation and legacy of Nashville. A stage installed for the duration of the show invited all visitors to perform live and the interaction was captured on video via live link into another separate exhibition room. The piece highlights the voyeuristic relationship between spectator and participator, public and private realms.
The exhibition was reviewed by David Maddox for the Nashville Scene, see URL link.
