Abstract

This keynote lecture was presented at the beginning of a two-day conference to international peers at Harvard University. The lecture introduced an overview of current critical issues in the commissioning of temporary public art projects and events including considerations of public art as event, the mobilisation and production of new publics, the dispersal of site and alternative curatorial models for the commissioning of temporary public art projects.
